https://paincarerehab.com/ Dr. Danny Song Of Pain Care of San Diego CA (858) 202-1546: Covers Chronic Back Pain relief with laser therapy
Hi, my name is Dr Danny Song. And I’m often asked, “What is laser therapy? And can it help my back and/or neck pain?”
Number one, when somebody comes into our office with pain that’s off the chart, personally we look at them to see if more than one modality can help them. We look at it from a chiropractic adjustment side. Or, we can look at it to see if they’re a candidate for laser therapy.
Laser therapy is a very benign treatment with very little side effects, if any. So when someone comes in with acute or chronic pain, we can use laser therapy to reduce the discomfort as it stimulates cellular activity, which allows for an increase in production of ATP, which is the energy of the cell that increases blood circulation to the tissue. It increases oxygen, uptake of the cell, and decreases swelling. So there’s a lot of positive benefits to the laser therapy. And there is little to no pain associated with it.
Lasers are rated from Class 1 to Class 5. There are a lot of doctors and physical therapists who use a Class 2 or Class 3 laser. We use a Class 4 laser and there are only a few Class 4 lasers here in San Diego. This is important because it penetrates much deeper for better results, which makes the treatment time shorter and the therapeutic benefits greater.
We use a laser to treat people not only for spinal issues, but also the laser treatment who have intense neck pain, or back pain, numbness and tingling into their legs and/or arms or hands, disk herniations of the neck or lower back, muscle spasms. And we also use it for plantar fasciitis, knee, hip, and shoulder pain.
The laser therapy is also cumulative, so that each treatment builds on the next, so we really want you to notice a change after we’ve done a few treatments. We’re not a one size fits all chiropractic center, and able to treat our patients with whichever technique they are most likely to receive the best benefit from.
For example, for acute pain laser therapy, non-rotating low force techniques and rehabilitation enable you to start the healing of the soft tissue as quick as possible reducing scar tissue formation. By using multiple procedures, our patients know that they’re getting the best treatment based on their individual symptoms.

Thank you.
